About the role

We are seeking to appoint 2 dynamic and self-motivated individuals to provide executive level support to Directors within our Children and Young People Service (covering Children's Social Care, Early Help, Education & SEND). You will have experience of supporting senior leaders or have a sound working knowledge and experience of efficient diary management along with administrative experience at a senior level within a busy and fast paced office environment. You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of working with changing schedules and competing priorities.

Experience within a Children’s Service setting would be advantageous but is not essential. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and flexible with a desire to make the role their own, and with support is willing to learn and understand the technical complexities and challenges of working within a Children and Young People service. In addition to email and diary management, you will provide support on smaller projects or pieces of work on behalf of Directors across the service. You will also support on complaints, proactively seeking information to support the Director’s in responding to issues raised.

This an exciting opportunity to play a vital part in our service transformation whilst working with a small, supportive and friendly team working as part of the wider improvement team. The attached role description and person specification provide greater detail on the role.

Bury operates an agile working environment with a blend of home and office working. We would expect in a typical week to spend 3 or 4 days a week in the office, based around the needs of Directors and meetings scheduled.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week.
