We require a kind and patient individual to assist a young client within the Bolton area.
This role is for 3 hours a week and will ideally be flexible across weekends or after school, and flexible hours during school holiday. Hours will be discussed further with the employer.
Main duties:
· To support with social outings, taking him to the park, or enjoying activities he chooses (he loves trampolining, the cinema, shopping, parks, bowling, and nature walks)
· Involves helping him build independence outside the house, learning acceptable behaviours, and providing genuine company
· Supporting the service user within his home
· Supporting the service user to walk his guide dog
· Supporting with minimal personal care, mainly supervising
Desired skills and attributes:
· A patient but energetic personality
· Someone who is reliable and can understand and set boundaries
· The service user thrives with male figures, so a male carer is desired
· Autsim and ADHD awareness and experience of managing sensory overload and meltdowns in a calm manner is essential
· Experience with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile is highly preferred
· Must be dog friendly due to the service user having a guide dog
· Needs a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Business insurance will be needed.
An enhanced DBS check will be required and paid for by the employer.
