Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations by managing accounts payable, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure smooth financial processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in accounting software and financial services within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

· Process purchase invoices and ensure timely payment of suppliers.

· Raise sales invoices and monitor customer accounts.

· Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

· Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash transactions.

· Assist with credit control activities and debt collection.

· Prepare and process payment runs.

· Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.

· Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.

· Assist with payroll administration where required.

· Manage petty cash and employee expense claims.

· Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

· Respond to internal and external finance-related queries.

· Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as required.

· Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks.

Skills

Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or bookkeeping role.

· Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

· Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Strong organisational and time management skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
