Location: The post holder will be based at Marleigh Primary Academy but will be expected to work across the Trust and to travel between sites. (Hybrid working possible)
About the Role
The HR Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support across a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and staff engagement.
You’ll work closely with the Director of People and HR team to ensure smooth HR processes, maintain accurate records, support key projects, and contribute to a positive employee experience across the Trust. This is a varied and fast-paced role with opportunities to get involved in communications, events, and HR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full administrative support to the Director of People, including diary management and meeting coordination
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes, ensuring compliance (e.g. DBS, SCR, visa checks)
- Maintain accurate HR records and systems, liaising with payroll and other departments
- Assist with employee relations casework, including note-taking and preparing documentation
- Deliver first-line HR advice on policies, terms, and conditions
- Support HR projects, reporting, and data analysis
- Manage HR communications across platforms such as MS Teams, intranet, and staff channels
- Assist in organising staff engagement initiatives, surveys, and events
- Support the management and promotion of employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives
Person Specification
Essential:
- Level 3 CIPD qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
- Experience handling HR queries and administrative processes
- Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience supporting employee relations casework
- Experience in HR data analysis, reporting, or reward/benefits
- Experience in education or multi-site organisations
