Full job description

Tenby Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and personable person to join our team as an Administration Officer.

This role could suit someone who already has some office or customer service experience and is looking for their next step, or someone at an earlier stage of their career who is keen to learn, develop and take on more responsibility over time.

The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager and wider management team, gaining experience across the different areas involved in running a busy golf club.

The role will give you exposure to a wide range of Club administration, including:

Membership administration and maintaining member records.
Dealing with members and visitors by phone, email and in person.
Processing green fees, membership payments and other transactions.
Assisting with invoices, payments and basic financial administration.
Preparing letters, notices and Club communications.
Helping with competitions, Open Weeks and Club events.
Preparing meeting and committee documentation.
Assisting with AGM administration.
Maintaining office records and filing systems.
Helping with the Club's monthly programme and communications.
Assisting with marketing and promotional activities.
Working with Club systems and databases.
Providing occasional support with reception duties when required, including assisting members and visitors and dealing with general enquiries.
Supporting the Club Secretary and wider management team.
Learning how the different departments of a golf club work together.

You should be:

Organised and able to keep on top of different tasks.
Friendly and confident when dealing with people.
Comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems.
Good with numbers and able to work accurately.
A good communicator, both written and verbal.
Reliable and willing to take responsibility.
Interested in learning and developing your skills.
Able to work as part of a team but also happy working independently.
Professional and respectful when dealing with confidential information.

Previous office or administration experience would be desirable, although full training on the Club's systems will be provided.

Tenby Golf Club is a busy and growing Club, and the Assistant Secretary plays an important role in keeping the administration of the Club running smoothly.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to learn how a golf club operates from the inside, develop valuable administrative and financial skills, build relationships with members and visitors, and gradually take on more responsibility.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
