Job Overview

A well-established family-owned business we are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester Class 4 & 7 / Technician to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background to work in a professional environment, contributing to vehicle safety and roadworthiness. The position is suitable for those eager to develop their technical expertise within the automotive industry.

Duties

Conduct MOT tests on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
Perform routine vehicle inspections, identifying faults and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs, adjustments, or replacements as required.
Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and repairs carried out, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure the testing bay and workshop are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
Support other team members with general vehicle servicing tasks as needed.

Experience

Proven experience working as an automotive technician and MOT tester.
Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, and emissions.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, handling vehicle parts or equipment safely.
Quality focused.

Immediate Start would be desirable. Previous experience working in a busy workshop environment is preferred but not mandatory. Pay: £45,000.00 per year
