ECA Cleaning Ltd specialises in the supply, service, repair and hire of professional and industrial cleaning equipment.
We work with commercial and industrial customers across a wide range of sectors and supply equipment from leading manufacturers including Kärcher, Kränzle and MAC International.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Internal Sales Executiveto join our team.
This is a genuine professional sales position for someone who is comfortable working towards sales targets, developing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities. It would particularly suit somebody who also has an interest in technical products, machinery or equipment.
For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to develop within the business and potentially progress into a Field Sales / Business Development role once they have built sufficient product and industry knowledge.
The Role
The Internal Sales Executive will be responsible for generating sales from both existing and prospective customers, developing commercial relationships and helping to grow the company's professional equipment sales.
This is not simply an order-processing or retail sales position.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively identify opportunities, follow up enquiries and quotations, contact customers, develop accounts and work towards agreed sales targets.
You will receive training on our product range and industry, but we are looking for someone who already understands the principles of professional sales and is comfortable being accountable for their own sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing commercial customers.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing customer accounts.
- Proactively contact prospective customers and develop new business opportunities.
- Respond to incoming sales enquiries and establish the customer's requirements.
- Prepare quotations and follow them through to conclusion rather than simply issuing prices.
- Follow up outstanding quotations and sales opportunities in a structured manner.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and solutions based on the customer's application and requirements.
- Work towards individual and company sales targets.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and keep accurate records of customer opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for additional products, accessories, servicing, repairs and related services.
- Develop a strong technical understanding of the equipment and products supplied by the company.
- Work closely with colleagues across sales, service, workshop and management.
- Build long-term commercial relationships rather than focusing solely on individual transactions.
- Assist with promotional campaigns, product demonstrations and customer events where required.
- Continually develop product, industry and competitor knowledge.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience within a professional, commercial or B2B sales environment.
Suitable experience could include:
- B2B sales.

Candidates should be comfortable discussing their previous sales performance, including experience of working towards measurable sales targets.

- Previous experience in a professional sales environment.
- Experience of working towards sales targets, KPIs or measurable commercial objectives.
- Confidence speaking with business customers by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- A proactive approach to generating and progressing sales opportunities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple quotations and opportunities.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding that successful sales involves follow-up, relationship development and closing opportunities.
- Willingness to learn a technical product range.
- Comfortable using computer systems, CRM systems and other business software.
- Professional and reliable approach to work.
Desirable Experience
Any of the following would be advantageous, although training can be provided:
- Business development experience.
- Account management experience.
- Technical or industrial sales.
- Machinery or equipment sales.
- Cleaning equipment or pressure washer industry experience.
- Engineering, automotive, agricultural, construction or trade-related sales.
- Experience selling products where understanding the customer's application is important.
- Experience developing new customer accounts from initial contact through to an ongoing commercial relationship.
Important – The Type of Sales Experience We Are Looking For
This position is intended for somebody with experience of professional or commercial sales.
While retail experience can provide valuable customer-service skills, general retail sales experience alone would not normally be considered sufficient for this position.
We are specifically looking for candidates who have experience of areas such as:
- Working towards individual sales targets.
- Managing a sales pipeline.
- Following up quotations and opportunities.
- Developing customer accounts.
- Prospecting for new customers.
- Negotiating and closing sales.
- Building ongoing B2B customer relationships.
Applicants should therefore be prepared to provide examples of their previous sales responsibilities and achievements.
Interest in Technical Products
Previous cleaning equipment experience is not essential.
However, our products are professional and often technical in nature. We therefore want somebody who is genuinely interested in understanding how equipment works and why one solution may be more appropriate than another.
You do not need to be an engineer, but you should enjoy learning about products, asking questions and developing enough technical knowledge to confidently advise customers.
An interest in machinery, vehicles, tools, engineering, pressure washers, cleaning equipment or similar products would therefore be particularly beneficial.
