Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing food production processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in a vibrant hospitality environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing delicious meals, leading kitchen operations, and maintaining a positive team atmosphere.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standard.
Oversee food production, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency across all menu items
Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of meals and excellent customer service
Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes or improve existing offerings
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment cleaning and stock organisation
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food safety standards
Experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving a diverse range of dishes
Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Familiarity with hospitality industry practices, including customer service excellence and health regulations
