Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. The successful applicant will play a vital part in ensuring our clients' heating systems operate reliably and efficiently, contributing to their comfort and safety.

Duties

Install, service, and repair a wide range of heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating.
Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance.
Troubleshoot issues with heating equipment using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to carry out repairs and modifications.
Perform plumbing tasks related to heating system installation and repair.
Carry out heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely.
Maintain detailed records of work performed for each client or project.
Ensure all work complies with current safety standards and regulations.
Assist with assembly of new heating units or components as required.
Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of tools and materials to various sites.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Heating Engineer or similar role within the HVAC or plumbing industry.
Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
Strong mechanical knowledge related to heating systems and components.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting.
Experience with assembly of heating units or related equipment is desirable.
Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles; experience in commercial driving is advantageous.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to undertake varied tasks across different sites with a focus on safety and quality standards.
