Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. Duties
- Install, service, and repair a wide range of heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot issues with heating equipment using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to carry out repairs and modifications.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to heating system installation and repair.
- Carry out heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for each client or project.
- Ensure all work complies with current safety standards and regulations.
- Assist with assembly of new heating units or components as required.
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of tools and materials to various sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heating Engineer or similar role within the HVAC or plumbing industry.
- Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heating systems and components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with assembly of heating units or related equipment is desirable.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles; experience in commercial driving is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to undertake varied tasks across different sites with a focus on safety and quality standards.
