Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full‑Time Functional Skills Maths & English Tutor and Educational Lead to inspire learners and lead educational initiatives within our organization. This dynamic role combines hands-on tutoring with strategic leadership, ensuring learners develop essential skills in Maths and English while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to empowering individuals through education, making a meaningful impact on their academic journey and personal growth.

Duties

Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions in Maths and English to learners of diverse backgrounds, including those with special educational needs.
Assess learners’ current skill levels, set achievable goals, and track progress through regular evaluations.
Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that meet individual learning styles and needs, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, confidence, and motivation among all students.
Lead educational programs and initiatives aimed at improving functional skills across the organization’s learner community.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and stakeholders to enhance curriculum delivery and learner support strategies.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and achievement milestones in compliance with organizational standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching Maths and English at various levels, with a focus on functional skills development.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with learners of all ages, including children and individuals with special educational needs.
Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Experience working with children or young people in educational or community settings is highly desirable.
Knowledge of special education principles and inclusive teaching practices to support diverse learners.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan lessons, monitor progress, and maintain detailed records.
