Satys Air Livery (UK) Ltd are an established aircraft refinishing company, with operations in Norwich, Southend, Cambridge and Bratislava. Due to the business being owned by Satys Aerospace, a global leader in Aircraft Sealing & Painting, there is opportunity at times to support operations across all our global sites (including, France, Netherlands, Morocco,Dubai).

At our Cambridge Airport facility, we require candidates to join our Trainee Programme, joining the organisation as a Trainee Aircraft Preparation Assistant, the first step in our comprehensive training programme to reach a fully skilled aircraft painter.

We are looking for those who are keen to learn, have a passion for the aviation industry, in particular, spray painting. The ideal candidates would have some previous paint experience, although this is not essential for the trainee programme. Duties will include all aspects of preparation work i.e. sanding, stripping, washing, cleaning etc. of full aircraft.

There are two stages within the recruitment process, first stage screening interview, successful candidates will then meet with the Production Manager on site. Successful and willing candidates will then begin training towards the role of Trainee Aircraft Preparation Assistant. This initial training will last approximately 4-6 weeks, which will encompass both practical and theoretical training. Production schedule, including weekends and bank holidays. The normal shift pattern is generally 7am-4pm, 6 days per week. Trainees receive £12.71 per hour.

We are also seeking experienced painters. The ideal candidates will have aircraft painting experience however, previous significant experience in other industries such as industrial, commercial or automotive vehicle painting will be considered, but hourly rates offered will be adjusted accordingly.

Duties will include all aspects of aircraft refinishing i.e., sanding, stripping, washing, cleaning, painting and livery application. You will need to be flexible in working hours to meet the aircraft production schedule, this includes weekends and bank holidays, for which there is a premium of 25% of the basic hourly rate. General shift pattern is 7am - 4pm 6 days per week however, this can vary depending on aircraft scheduling.

Current hourly rates:

Experienced Prepper: £14.50

Trainee Painter : £16.00

During the probationary period (3 months), you will be employed on a zero hour contract, and the hours offered depend on workload. Following a successful probation period annualised contracts (salaried) will be offered, the total number of hours can be discussed. These are generally 1,800 or 2,100 per annum (inclusive of entitlement to annual leave).

An additional 25% on the basic hourly rate is applicable for any hours worked on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday. Where you complete a late shift, this premium also applies paid in hours. Must hold a full UK driving licence
