The Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join our manufacturing team.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components to the highest quality standards. You will work with a variety of machines and be responsible for producing first-off and production components while ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
- Load and run existing CNC programs.
- Set tooling and fixtures for production.
- Adjust tool offsets and make minor program edits where required.
- Produce first-off components and carry out in-process inspections.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Use measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and gauges.
- Ensure components meet drawing specifications and quality standards.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Identify tooling or machining issues and report them to the Engineering or Production team.
- Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the machine shop.
About You
You will have previous experience working as a CNC Setter / Operator within a precision engineering environment and take pride in producing high-quality work.
You should have:
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol or Mitsubishi control systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Good attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to quality and safety.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with both CNC turning and milling.
- Experience of small to medium batch manufacturing.
- Knowledge of first-off inspection procedures.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
