Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Carer Assistant to join our compassionate care team. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of high-quality care within a care home environment, ensuring residents receive personalized assistance that promotes their independence, dignity, and well-being. Your leadership skills and caring nature will help foster a warm, safe, and engaging atmosphere for all residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to supervise and guide junior staff while actively participating in the day-to-day care activities. strong communication skills are essential for effective teamwork and resident interaction.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences
Supervise and mentor junior care assistants, providing guidance to uphold high standards of care and professionalism
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, including updates to care plans and incident reports
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care delivery
Support the supervision of medication administration in accordance with legal and organizational policies
Contribute to creating a positive environment by encouraging social engagement and recreational activities for residents

Experience

Previous experience working in a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care environment is essential
Familiarity with developing and following care plans to meet individual needs
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and team members
Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and documentation purposes

SVQ Level 3 minimum required.
