Job Description – Nursery Apprenticeship in Children’s Care, Play,Learning and Development (CCPLD) Level 2 and /or Level 3

We are looking for someone to join our amazing team,who is committed to complete an apprenticeship at Level 2 or Level 3 in Children’s Care, Play,Learning and Development (CCPLD), within our small, homely, busy but really friendly organisation.
We are looking for an apprentice to join our team, who is passionate about working with children and shares the same core values and beliefs as Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy.
Our main aim is to put the child at the centre of all we do and to nurture them to have a safe, secure and amazing fun filled time ,to enable them 'to be the best they can be'.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in working with children between the ages of 6 months to 12 years, or relevant experience/qualifications, with suitable transferable skills.
Location: Llandaff North, Cardiff CF14 2FF
Hours:
Full Time 8am - 6pm, 4 days/38 hours a week (one day off a week)
Starting Salary: For the first 12 months, in line with the current apprenticeship rate of £8.00 per hour (£15,808 gross per year)
After the successful completetion of your 6 month probationary period and your 6 month induction ,your hourly rate will increase to £8.50 per hour. After the first year of your employment/ apprenticeship,you will then go onto NLW for your age.
Contract: Temporary contract in the first instance which will be made permanent after 12 months.
Post Requirements: Apprenticeship in Children’s Care, Play,Learning, and Development (CCPLD)
You will be employed to complete your Level 2 and / or Level 3 in CCPLD.
As an employee at Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, you will complete your apprenticeship and qualification by experiencing high quality, first hand experiences within the workplace, along with monthly assessments from our external training provider, with whom you will be registered.
You will gain invaluable experiences from working with a highly qualified, experienced and supportive team of early year’s practitioners.
You will also undertake the Social Care Wales Induction to Childcare Framework,along with our own induction program. Both of these induction programs, which are delivered in house by our training team ,will give you a fantastic basis for your apprenticeship ,which will enable you to successfully gain your Level 2 and/or 3 CCPLD qualification .
The apprenticeship in CCPLD, to include Levels 2 and /or 3, will be fully funded by the Welsh Government and for this reason we are looking to employ an apprentice who is totally committed to working hard to achieve their qualification to a high standard.

- a supportive network ,to promote studying at home, including a PC/laptop etc. to complete your apprenticeship
- commitment to developing your practical skills through modelling effective early years practice and responding positively to constructive feedback through discussion, mentoring and coaching in order to continually improve your professional performance
- high aspirations for yourself ,your team and the children you work with
- have a strong desire to work towards career progression within the organisation
