About Us

Empire Delivery is a dynamic and fast-growing premium 2-man delivery service based in Sheering, conveniently located between Harlow and Bishops Stortford. The Role

We are recruiting a Team Leader for our warehouse day shift. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse floor — organising the team, overseeing goods in and vans out, and making sure every job leaves the warehouse right first time.

Shift Details

Day Shift:

Start time: 7:00am – 9:00am (start time varies depending on daily workload)
Finish time: 5:00pm
Rate: £14.05 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and manage the day shift warehouse team, allocating tasks and ensuring loading deadlines are consistently met
Oversee receiving of goods from incoming lorries, ensuring items are scanned on arrival and sorted into the correct labelled areas
Check packing of goods before they go out on route
Assess returned goods on arrival back at the warehouse
Manage held/failed delivery stock, liaising with management regarding next steps
Support recruitment, training, and day-to-day supervision of warehouse operatives
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment throughout the shift, upholding health & safety standards
Report to senior management on team performance, delivery success rates, and any recurring issues

Requirements

Previous warehouse experience is essential, ideally including picking, loading, and unloading
Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred
Comfortable using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems
Confident making decisions under pressure on the warehouse floor
Good level of physical fitness — this is a physically demanding role involving heavy lifting
Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
A clear communicator, able to give direction to a team and liaise professionally with drivers and retailers
Flexibility around start times is required
