Full job description

Job Overview

Embark on an exciting journey as an Apprentice Bench Joiner, where you'll develop essential skills in woodworking and joinery through hands-on experience. This paid apprenticeship offers a dynamic environment to learn staircase manufacture, assembly, and the use of various hand and power tools along with woodworking machinery. You'll support the creation of high-quality wooden components for a range of construction projects, gaining valuable expertise in joinery. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to build a solid foundation in the joinery trade while contributing to innovative solutions. You will be enrolled on a 2 year college course if not already enrolled.

Responsibilities

Assist in fabricating and assembling wooden components using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques
Support the measurement, cutting, shaping, and fitting of timber and other materials according to project specifications
Participate in joinery elements.
Learn proper handling of heavy lifting equipment and safe use of construction tools.
Follow safety protocols diligently during all fabrication and construction tasks
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and job site to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Enthusiastic about learning carpentry, joinery, and construction trades with a keen eye for detail
Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Physically capable of performing heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and eagerness to develop new skills
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions carefully
Must be committed to safety standards and quality workmanship throughout training
We would expect a minimum grade of 5 in maths so to understand measurement skills.
