Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The position involves working with modern equipment and tools in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our vehicle fleet.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on light vehicles using schematics and technical manuals.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including engine work, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and electrical system troubleshooting.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair procedures.
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately identify issues and implement solutions.
Carry out welding tasks where necessary to repair or modify vehicle components.
Assist with the installation of new parts and accessories, ensuring proper fitment and function.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time taken for each job.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and advising on vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Technician or similar role within an automotive workshop.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for vehicle repair.
Experience with assembly processes, equipment repair, welding, and general maintenance tasks.
Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing faults accurately.
Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are preferred but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional automotive environment while providing top-quality service to our clients.

Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
