Activities Co-ordinator
Sainthill House & Cottage, Exeter, Cowick Street, EX2 9JG
30 hours per week | Includes alternate weekends
£14.75 per hour basic | £17.25 overtime | £22.13 bank holidays
At Sainthill House & Cottage, we don't believe activities are something that happen between meals.
We believe they are at the heart of wellbeing, confidence, independence and quality of life.
We're looking for an exceptional Activities Co-ordinator to lead and develop our activities department and help create a home full of laughter, purpose, opportunities and experiences for the people who live with us.
This isn't a role where you'll simply organise bingo afternoons and quizzes.
This is an opportunity to shape the atmosphere, energy and social life of an entire home.
About Sainthill House & Cottage
Sainthill House & Cottage is a 23-bed specialist residential care home in Exeter, rated GOOD by the CQC.
We support a wonderfully diverse group of adults living with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Our residents come from different backgrounds, have different personalities, interests and aspirations, and no two days here are ever the same.
This isn't a traditional elderly residential home where residents spend most of the day sitting in lounges watching television.
Our residents enjoy getting out into the community, trying new experiences, maintaining hobbies, celebrating achievements and remaining active participants in their own lives.
One resident may want support attending a local event or football match, another may enjoy baking or gardening, whilst someone else may prefer a quiet coffee trip, a walk along the seafront or spending time developing a personal hobby or interest.
The successful candidate will understand that meaningful activities look different for different people.
At Sainthill, we pride ourselves on creating a home where people continue to live their lives rather than simply reside within a service.
The Role
As Activities Co-ordinator, you will lead our activities department and be responsible for creating and delivering an engaging, varied and person-centred programme of activities both within the home and out in the community.
You will lead a small team consisting of two Activities Assistants, providing guidance, support and direction to ensure our residents receive the very best opportunities every day.
You will have the freedom to bring your own ideas, passions and creativity to the role and will be encouraged to make the position your own.

- Organising celebrations, themed events and seasonal activities throughout the year.
- Helping showcase life at Sainthill through photographs and social media content.
- Continuously looking for new ideas and opportunities for our residents.
