Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship in both residential and commercial settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail to contribute to a range of decorating projects. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming before painting or decorating.
Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Ensure all work is completed to specified standards and within agreed timeframes.
Assist with colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for each project.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times during the execution of decorating tasks.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
Good command of English language, both spoken and written.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Organised approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to painting and decorating activities.
