Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the care sector. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, be organised, and have a genuine interest in caring for others. A valid driving licence is desirable for those wishing to work in home care settings.

Responsibilities

Supporting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Assisting with mobility and transferring individuals safely
Helping with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
Supporting individuals to participate in social activities and hobbies
Following personalised care plans to meet individual needs effectively
Maintaining accurate records of care provided and any changes in condition
Communicating effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure holistic care delivery
Ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at all times
Adhering to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
Good IT skills for maintaining documentation and updating care records
Fluency in English is required for effective communication with residents and team members
Driving experience or possession of a valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving home visits
Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and organisational abilities are essential for success in this role
