Location: Lower Melville Wood, Ladybank, KY15 7UL (but will be required to travel to other facilities within Fife)

Hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday

Salary: FC8 - £43,437 -£47,604 (£23.14 - £25.36 ph.)

Status: Permanent

We operate: Material Recovery Facilities; an Anaerobic Digestion Plant, Aerobic composting operations, 11 household waste recycling centres, around 300 multi-material recycling points, fuel production, landfill gas recovery, combined heat & power plant, district heating, active landfill sites, closed landfill sites, leachate treatment facilities and all the associated logistics and business operations.

Our Cireco Commercial Operations business unit is in place to provide high quality waste management and resource services to commercial and domestic clients to generate and grow external revenue streams to support Fife Council. Helping the council and external clients in creating sustainable solutions to the challenges they face.

You will work as part of a team based at Lower Melville Wood, Ladybank although you will be expected to operate at different waste/ recycling facilities. Your main duty will be to manage the operations on site and to ensure FRS’s environmental operating requirements are carried out in accordance with the statutory obligations under Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) legislation (and associated guidance) and Waste Management Licences.

Your role will be to manage the operation of FRS’ waste and resource management facilities ensuring the development and delivery of sustainable disposal, treatment and transfer functions. Major job activities include employee and contractor management and general operation management. Performance and finance management will also be undertaken to ensure key service standards are maintained and to assist managers in preparation of revenue and capital expenditure budgets and activities are conducted within necessary limits. The activities are principally located at Lower Melville Wood (by Ladybank) and Cireco Park (by Dunfermline) however this may extend to other facilities as required by FRS’ remit.
