We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee CNC Milling Machinist to join our manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in precision CNC milling and develop their skills in a professional manufacturing environment.
You don't need to be an experienced machinist. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in engineering, a practical mindset, attention to detail and a genuine desire to learn. Full training and support will be provided.
The Role
As a Trainee CNC Milling Machinist, you will work alongside experienced machinists and gradually develop the skills required to set and operate CNC milling machinery.
Your training will include:
- Operating CNC milling machines
- Learning to set CNC milling machines
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Understanding machining tolerances and specifications
- Selecting and setting cutting tools
- Setting workholding and machine offsets
- Loading and unloading components
- Learning basic CNC programming and programme editing
- Understanding feeds, speeds and cutting conditions
- Using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet specifications
- Identifying and resolving basic machining issues
- Working with a range of engineering materials
- Maintaining machinery and keeping the workshop clean and safe

Previous experience in engineering, CNC machining, mechanics, fabrication, DIY or other practical work would be advantageous.
Training & Development
You will receive hands-on training from experienced CNC machinists and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.
The aim is to progress you from a trainee into a fully competent CNC Milling Machinist, capable of setting and operating CNC milling machines and producing high-quality precision components.
