Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Night Shift Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment during overnight hours to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure precise fabrication, adherence to safety standards, and efficient workflow.

Duties

Set up and operate plasma cutting machines with precision, ensuring accurate cuts on various sheet metal and fabricated components
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper machine settings and cutting parameters
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on plasma equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety standards
Use hand tools, grinding tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to prepare materials for cutting or assembly
Conduct quality checks on finished parts, verifying dimensions and surface finishes using basic math skills and measurement tools
Assist in fabrication, grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as needed to support production goals
Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, machine logs, and quality reports

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes and equipment operation
Proficiency in using hand tools, tooling, grinders, welders, and sheet metal handling techniques
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments
Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding, grinding, and assembly is highly desirable
Knowledge of safety procedures related to plasma cutting, welding, grinding, and general manufacturing environments
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during production processes
