Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Sales Assistant/Barista to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and supporting daily operations within our busy café. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a welcoming experience and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position offers an opportunity to develop barista skills while working in a vibrant environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Assist customers with menu selections, answer queries, and provide exceptional service to enhance their experience.
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including food preparation surfaces, tables, and equipment.
Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, cups, utensils, and cleaning materials.
Support team members during busy periods by assisting with serving or food preparation tasks as required.

Requirements

Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with good time management to prioritise tasks effectively.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills to engage positively with customers.
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills in food preparation, customer service, and café operations while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
