Full job description

Overview
On the Wheel Superstore are looking for an experienced Technician to join their team. Do you have a strong work ethic & want to excel in your role and become part of the family? As a company, we look to employ people from diverse backgrounds with transferable skills eg. are you a car mechanic looking for a change in direction maybe?

Key Responsibilities

Work across a variety of brands from scooters to large capacity motorcycles and everything in between for customers and showroom sold bikes.
You will be responsible for undertaking diagnostic, repair, PDI and servicing work in an efficient and safe manner, identifying non-routine defects or additional faults either in the workshop or during road tests. Obtain appropriate authorisation if additional work is required on a vehicle and ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard.
Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and to test repairs.
Carry out appraisals on used motorcycles as required.
Work closely with the Workshop manager & Service team to ensure they are kept informed of the progress of work on customer vehicles, and that they are fully briefed on work completed or delayed.
Maintain a clean & safe work bay & assist the team with the general housekeeping of the workshop areas.
Be open to trying new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.
Carry out other tasks not listed but required by the business when required.

Qualifications

Proven experience of skills and knowledge as a qualified technician.
Full UK bike licence.
Problem solving is important as is the ability to work to targets and estimated job times.
Strong work ethic & excellent time management
Good communication skills
Committed to delivering an excellent customer experience with a focus on a “first time fix” mentality.
Be a Team Player, assist other technicians & colleagues when required.

MOT Tester qualifications or willingness to be trained is desirable but not essential.

Motorcycle or Car technician: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
