Company Overview

Liverpool Lighthouse is a registered charity located in a refurbished former Gaumont cinema in North Liverpool. We are dedicated to working with our local community to foster thriving environments where individuals can lead more fulfilled lives through creative engagement and practical support including learning English as an additional language.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced ESOL Teacher to teach classes, mostly pre-beginners and beginners on Tuesday and Wednesdays in term time 10am - 12pm (free lunch) and 12.30pm - 2.30pm. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting skill development in English language as well as demonstrating empathy and contributing to enhancing the wellbeing of participants.

Responsibilities

Plan implement engaging educational programs tailored to the needs of diverse learners and effective in the development of English language
Provide tutoring and support to adults, fostering their academic and personal growth
Communicate effectively with students to build strong relationships.
Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure success.

Requirements

Proven experience in teaching or tutoring English as an additional language with adults
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to differentiate and meet the needs of a diverse group of learners
Ability to engage students through effective, engaging methods
A passion for community work and improving the lives of others
