Join the University of Plymouth and help shape an exceptional HR experience for our staff and stakeholders!

About the role
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for leadership, customer service, and continuous improvement? We're looking for a Team Leader to join our HR Operational Support Team, delivering high-quality HR administration and operational support across the University.

You'll act as a key contact for faculties and professional service areas, providing expert advice, guidance, and support across a range of HR activities.

You will play a key role in delivering an efficient, customer-focused HR service. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day leadership, support and motivation to the HR Operational Support Team.
Overseeing HR administrative processes to ensure a high-quality, accurate and timely service.
Offering guidance and advice on HR policies and procedures.
Supporting the effective use and continuous improvement of HR systems, data management and reporting processes.
Ensuring compliance with DBS and UKVI requirements and associated processes.
Developing team capability through coaching, training and ongoing performance support.

For this role, you will work a minimum of 4 hours on Wednesday and full days on Thursday and Friday. Although we can accommodate hybrid working once fully trained, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs.

What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience working in a fast-paced HR administration environment.
Experience providing accurate HR advice and interpreting policies.
Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with HR and payroll systems and managing complex data.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands and meeting deadlines.
A passion for team leadership, development, and continuous improvement.
