Service Technician / MOT Tester

Location: Alan Milne – Elgin

Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per year

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday – no weekends

About Alan Milne

Alan Milne is Moray’s main Peugeot franchise and an authorised repairer for Citroën. Both brands form part of Stellantis, one of the world’s leading automotive groups.

We are looking for a qualified Service Technician and MOT Tester to join our growing Aftersales team in Elgin.

This is an excellent opportunity to become a key member of our technical department, working with modern vehicle technology, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs
Conduct MOT tests to the highest professional standards
Diagnose faults accurately and complete high-quality repairs
Aim to achieve first-time fixes for customers
Record feedback and resolutions through manufacturer technical platforms
Continue developing your knowledge of new technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles
Demonstrate best practice and share technical knowledge with colleagues
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop

What We’re Looking For

A recognised NVQ qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology through IMI, City & Guilds or an equivalent provider
A valid MOT Tester qualification – essential
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
An air-conditioning qualification – preferred
Previous franchise experience – desirable but not essential
Previous EV or hybrid training – advantageous, although full training can be provided
A positive attitude and a genuine interest in developing and sharing technical knowledge
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
