Butchery Sales Assistant

Location: Greens of Ellon

Pay: \u00a310.85 - \u00a312.71 per hour

Contract: Part time/Full time position available

Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older

Greens Retail are part of the Glenshire Group, a Scottish family-owned conglomerate based in Fife. The Group operates in multiple sectors Retail (Greens Retail), Hospitality, Property, Cleaning Hygiene & Business Supplies (Disruptive Brands), Pizza Hut delivery and Frozen Drinks (Skwishee).

The Role:

A Butchery Sales Assistant position at Greens Retail primarily involves maintaining the organisation, rotation and cleanliness, ensuring the highest store standards and most importantly delivering the best possible customer service. We're looking for exceptional colleagues that don't shy away from a challenge and will constantly go above and beyond to deliver one of the best convenience stores in the country. Your typical day will involve to:

What responsibilities are common for Butcher Assistant jobs?

Maintain the organization, rotation and cleanliness of back stock areas.
Ensure both signing execution and pricing accuracy are maintained.
Prepare, stock, cut, weigh and wrap meat and seafood department products.
Ensure proper product handling to control shrinkage and waste.
Review inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.
Receive, inspect, and store meat properly upon delivery to ensure meat quality.
Resolve customer complaints to the full satisfaction of the customer.
Assist as needed in preparation of food products, catering, and special orders.
Produce and submit receiving records on a timely basis.
Order meat products according to anticipated sales and seasonal needs.
Direct or show customers where items are in the store.
Keep workstation and surrounding area neat and clean.
Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures.
Make regular announcements to inform guests of freshly prepared meat products and current sales.
Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining, a high level of productivity.
Unload trucks, sort cases for stocking, and inspect merchandise for damage.
Utilize up-time as the key metric to determine success of the team.
Follow daily cutting lists and complete work in allotted time.

What do I need:

Food Retail Experience= preferred
Great attitude and team working skills= 100%
Experience is preferred though not essential as full training will be provided.

Beyond this, it is essential you have a willingness to deliver, are passionate about retail and have a strong attention to detail.
