Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering, cooking, and food service, with previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a dynamic food service setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in cleaning, sanitising, and maintaining hygiene standards
Help with food safety procedures, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables or portioning supplies
Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Assist in organising supplies and stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to prevent accidents or contamination

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and basic culinary techniques
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
A positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends
