Operations Assistant – Henry's Sports Bar

Location: Henry's Sports Bar
Job Type: Full-time (including evenings and weekends as required)

About the Role

Henry's Sports Bar is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Operations Assistant to join our management team. This is a hands-on role that requires someone with previous hospitality and management experience who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue.

Working closely with the Operations Director and Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the business, from stock management and staff leadership to event planning and venue development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain stock control, including regular stock takes and ordering supplies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
Prepare and manage staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels.
Supervise, support, and motivate the bar team, maintaining high standards of service.
Lead by example by working behind the bar and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Ensure the venue is clean, organised, compliant, and operating efficiently at all times.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
Work closely with the management team to identify opportunities to improve operations and customer experience.
Generate creative ideas for marketing campaigns, promotions, and special events.
Research and book live entertainment, including singers, bands, DJs, and other performers.
Liaise with artists, agents, and event suppliers to organise successful entertainment nights.
Help develop new concepts and initiatives to increase footfall and customer engagement.
Assist with general administrative and operational duties as required.

Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience with stock control and ordering.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and busy event periods.
A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems independently.
Creative mindset with an interest in marketing, promotions, and event planning.
A passion for hospitality and delivering memorable customer experiences.
