Senior Skilled Operator – South EssexFull-Time Position with Brand-New 3-Bedroom Farm Cottage Provided
We are looking for an experienced Senior Skilled Operator to join our team on a large arable and vegetable farming business in South Essex.
This is a hands-on, responsible role for someone with strong machinery experience, good practical ability and the confidence to work independently. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of key operations throughout the farming year.
The role will include:
- Spraying with a modern 36m Rogator self-propelled sprayer
- Inter-row spraying in cereal crops with brand new Garford 12m machine
- Secondary cultivations and seedbed preparation
- Relief combine driving during harvest
- Irrigation operation, maintenance and repairs
- General tractor and field work
- Machinery maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Grain handling and loading lorries
- General estate and manual work when required
- Other skilled farming operations as required
We operate a modern, high-capacity machinery fleet, and the role would suit someone who takes pride in machinery, works accurately and can be trusted to get on with jobs independently.
The right person must have:
- PA1 & PA2 spraying qualifications
- Good practical spraying experience
- Strong tractor and machinery experience
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving ability
- Full UK driving licence
- High standards of machinery care and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to work longer hours during busy periods
Irrigation experience would be a strong advantage, as would previous combine driving and cultivation experience.
Pay & Accommodation
- Pay by negotiation.
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Brand-new three-bedroom farm cottage provided in Orsett Village
- Permanent, full-time position
