Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our premises. This role involves performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance across various building systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, leadership qualities, and excellent customer service skills to support a well-maintained environment for staff and visitors alike.

Duties

Conduct regular inspections of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics interpretation.
Carry out welding tasks as required for structural repairs or modifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults using mechanical knowledge and maintenance expertise.
Supervise maintenance activities carried out by team members or external contractors to ensure quality standards are met.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing building-related concerns promptly and professionally.
Lead by example in promoting safety protocols and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Proven experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, welding, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance.
Strong understanding of building systems and preventative maintenance strategies.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-specialists.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, welding, and general building maintenance.
Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields are preferred but not essential if accompanied by substantial practical experience.
