Conference and Events Sales Manager

The DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport is conveniently located within the airport complex, making it an excellent choice for pre-flight stays. We are looking for a results-driven, strategic, and client-focused Conference and Events Sales Manager to lead and drive event sales. In this role, you will generate new business, manage key client relationships, and maximize revenue opportunities for conferences, meetings, and special events.

What we offer

£36,000.00 per annum
CONTRACT TYPE & HOURS: Permanent, full-time contract - 40hrs per week

Your role

We are looking for someone with Hilton or strong branded hotel experiance for this role.

As the Groups, Conference & Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving revenue, occupancy, and profit targets through the proactive selling and conversion of conference, events, and group bookings. You will ensure exceptional customer service, manage enquiries effectively, maintain accurate booking systems, and support the overall commercial objectives of the hotel. You will work closely with the on-site Reservations Cluster team who also support the DoubleTree by Hilton St Anne's Manor, Berkshire to support the delivery of commercial objectives across both properties.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Developing and implementing strategies to drive conference and event sales, maximizing revenue opportunities.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders.
Managing the full sales process, from initial inquiries and proposals to contract negotiation and final confirmation.
Conducting site visits, client meetings, and presentations to promote the hotelâ€™s event spaces and services.
Working closely with the operations and food & beverage teams to ensure seamless event execution.
Identifying opportunities to upsell additional services, such as catering, audiovisual, and accommodation packages.
Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
Preparing sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to track performance and progress.
Leading and mentoring the conference and events sales team, ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity.
Collaborating with marketing and revenue teams to support promotional campaigns and seasonal offers.
Ensuring all client requests and event details are handled with professionalism and efficiency.
The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details, and trusting.

The core skills and experience required to succeed:

Proven experience in conference and event sales, hospitality sales, or a similar role.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive performance and motivation.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a guest-focused approach.
Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans to maximize revenue.
Experience in managing multiple event bookings and client accounts in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales or event management software.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and capitalize on market trends.

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
