We are a small, friendly and well-established accountancy practice looking for an experienced office based Bookkeeper to join our growing team and support our Bookkeeping Manager.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FULLY BASED OFFICE ROLE. 22.5-30 hours per week
We are looking for someone with previous practice experience, who is confident in bookkeeping who enjoys working with clients and can work independently as well as being part of a supportive team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good bookkeeping experience preferably within an accountancy practice Experience preparing VAT returns and CIS returns
- A good understanding of Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reports
- Experience using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence dealing with clients and resolving queries
- The ability to manage their workload and meet deadlines
An AAT or bookkeeping qualification would be an advantage,
experience within an accountancy practice would be an advantage.
The role will include:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients
- Processing invoices and transactions
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns
- Preparing quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) submissions for self-employed clients and landlords
- Preparing and reviewing management reports, including Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheets
- Assisting with month-end and year-end work
- Liaising with clients, HMRC and the wider team
- Providing general bookkeeping support as required
