Full job description

Job Introduction

Pinnacle Group are looking for an experienced School Caretaker to ensure our buildings and facilities are well-maintained, secure, fully functional and Health & Safety compliant.

You will be joining our Facilities Management team based at Beechwood School in Slough. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance, managing repairs, ensuring security protocols are followed and keeping the premises clean and orderly. You will need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills. This is a full-time role with alternating shift patterns between the working hours of 6.30AM - 2.30PM or 10.30AM-6.30PM, Monday-Friday.

Key responsibilities:

Carry out day to day caretaking duties according to the daily schedule such as attending to any repairs logged on the Help Desk or reported by Site Manager.
Carrying out daily litter pick of School grounds, changing external bins, sweeping external areas, checking toilets etc
Carry out defined Planned Preventative Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with each School’s schedule such as, Twice weekly flushing of outlets, weekly Sprinkler Alarm test, Weekly Fire Alarm Test, Monthy Fire Door and Fire Extinguisher Checks etc
Respond to emergency situations such as floods, floor spillages, body fluid clean up and arranging temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescaled.
Carry out minor repairs and decoration works
Being proactive by noticing any deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying if withing capabilities, or bringing the defect to the attention of the Site Manager or Senior Caretaker

Key requirements:

Range of general handyperson skills such as general DIY skills, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical
Good customer service skills
Amenable and approachable personality
Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers
Ability to work in a team
