The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop creativity, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence through innovative design and practical projects.
The Role
As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-structured Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Inspire students through creative, practical and innovative design projects.
- Plan and deliver lessons that challenge, engage and support learners of all abilities.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong outcomes.
- Develop students’ practical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Promote safe working practices within specialist workshop environments.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Support enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects, design competitions and extracurricular clubs.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4.
- The ability to teach one or more specialist areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics or CAD/CAM is desirable.
- Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Design Technology.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- High expectations of student achievement and progress.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- The ability to contribute positively to a successful Technology department.
