Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction painting and decorating to develop their skills within a professional environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks to ensure a smooth finish before painting or decorating.
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and client specifications.
Mix paints and colours accurately to match desired shades.
Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during the decorating process.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition; report any repairs needed.
Collaborate with clients or project managers to determine colour schemes and design preferences.
Complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality.

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating is preferred.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Good physical fitness; capable of working at heights and in confined spaces if required.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the trade.

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
