EXPERIENCED MECHANIC / VEHICLE TECHNICIAN WANTED – SHADWELL, LONDON

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and confident Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join our busy vehicle repair garage in Shadwell, East London.

We are an established vehicle repair garage working on all makes and models, carrying out everything from general servicing and MOT repairs to major mechanical work.

We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of workmanship and providing customers with honest and professional service.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a competent mechanic/technician who is comfortable working independently and can confidently take responsibility for jobs from start to finish without requiring constant supervision.

The successful candidate must be confident and comfortable carrying out clutch replacements, timing belt replacements, timing chain replacements, gearbox removal and replacement, engine removal and replacement/engine swaps, engine repairs, diagnostics and fault finding, brakes and suspension, MOT failure repairs, servicing and general mechanical repairs.

You should be able to diagnose problems, plan the repair and complete mechanical jobs independently to a good standard.

Strong general mechanical knowledge is required, along with the ability to carry out major mechanical repairs confidently and independently. You must be reliable, have good timekeeping, a good work ethic and be able to complete jobs efficiently and correctly.

3+ years of experience is preferred, although candidates with less experience may still be considered if they can demonstrate strong practical mechanical ability.

Formal qualifications are not essential. Practical experience, ability, reliability and the right attitude are more important to us.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 18:00

Saturday: 09:00 – 18:00 (optional)

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Pay

£16–£22 per hour, depending on experience and ability.

A 2-day paid trial/probation period will be carried out to assess your practical ability, after which your starting hourly rate will be confirmed.

Pay reviews are based on performance. A capable, productive and reliable mechanic can receive a pay increase within their first month.
