A Head of Development is required to lead an established web development team and play a key role in the next stage of its digital growth.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to step completely away from the tools.
It's an opportunity for a technically strong Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Development Manager or existing Head of Development who enjoys building great digital products, leading people and taking ownership of delivery.
The agency has evolved significantly from its traditional creative roots and is now delivering increasingly ambitious digital projects for established UK and international clients, including substantial six-figure web projects.

The Role
You'll lead an established development team consisting of Lead, Senior and Junior-level developers while working closely with other discipline leads across the agency.
You'll take ownership of technical delivery, help scope new projects, support and guide developers and ensure multiple client projects remain on track.
Importantly, you'll remain technically hands-on.
You'll be involved in:
- Leading and supporting an established web development team
- Remaining hands-on across development when required
- Scoping and estimating new digital projects
- Managing multiple concurrent projects and technical priorities
- Improving delivery, timescales and technical processes
- Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with Design, Strategy, Performance and other agency disciplines
- Providing technical input during pitches and project discussions
- Mentoring developers and helping individuals progress
- Contributing to the agency's wider technology direction
- Exploring new technologies, tools and AI opportunities
Technology
The environment is predominantly centred around:
PHP | WordPress | JavaScript | HTML/CSS | Framer | APIs & Integrations
You don't necessarily need to tick every technical box, but you'll need strong hands-on web development experience and the credibility to guide an experienced development team.
Who We're Looking For
Agency experience would be highly advantageous, but it isn't essential.
More important is your ability to operate in an environment where several client projects are moving simultaneously.
You could already be a Head of Development, or you might be an ambitious Lead Developer / Technical Lead looking for the opportunity to take the next step.
We're particularly interested in people who are:
