Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our dynamic retail team! In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers, assists with product selection, and ensures the store runs smoothly. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a positive shopping experience for all visitors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your communication and merchandising skills while contributing to a vibrant retail environment.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
Assist customers in locating products and answer questions about merchandise, promotions, or store policies
Maintain organized shelves through effective merchandising, restocking, and inventory management
Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items to boost sales
Operate the cash register accurately, handle transactions efficiently, and process payments using POS systems
Keep the store clean, tidy, and welcoming by performing regular housekeeping duties
Use strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and ensure smooth daily operations

Skills

Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members confidently
Basic math skills for handling transactions, counting cash, and managing stock levels
Strong organizational skills to keep shelves stocked and store areas tidy
Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods efficiently
Phone etiquette for professional communication with customers and suppliers
Knowledge of merchandising principles to display products attractively and maximize sales opportunities
