Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards through MOT testing. Your expertise will help us deliver reliable service and keep our customers’ vehicles running smoothly.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Perform MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards to ensure vehicles meet safety regulations.
Identify mechanical issues accurately and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
Use heavy lifting equipment safely to handle vehicle components during maintenance procedures.
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and diagnostics performed.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized workshop environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills to explain repairs clearly to customers.
Previous experience in vehicle maintenance or MOT testing is highly essential.
