Margo’s Beauty is a growing beauty and e-commerce startup preparing for the next stage of its development.
As we expand our team across e-commerce, marketing, graphic design, photography, makeup artistry, content creation and other areas, we are looking for an organised and confident Recruitment & HR Coordinator to take ownership of our recruitment process.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, communicating with people and helping build a team from an early stage.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the recruitment process from the initial vacancy through to the successful candidate starting with the business.
You will work closely with the founder to understand staffing requirements, attract suitable candidates, conduct interviews and recommend the strongest applicants.
You will have significant responsibility for managing recruitment while final hiring decisions will initially remain with the founder.
Recruitment Planning
- Discuss staffing requirements with management
- Help define job roles, responsibilities and candidate requirements
- Prepare recruitment plans for upcoming vacancies
- Recommend suitable recruitment channels
Job Advertising & Candidate Attraction
- Write clear and professional job advertisements
- Publish vacancies on job boards, university careers services and other recruitment platforms
- Develop relationships with universities and colleges
- Source potential candidates directly where appropriate
- Promote opportunities through relevant online channels
Application Management
- Monitor incoming applications
- Review CVs, portfolios and covering letters
- Assess candidates against agreed job criteria
- Maintain organised candidate records
- Create shortlists for each vacancy
- Communicate professionally with applicants throughout the process
Screening & Interviews
- Conduct initial telephone and video screening interviews
- Arrange face-to-face and online interviews
- Develop structured interview questions
- Conduct candidate interviews
- Take detailed interview notes
- Use candidate scoring and evaluation systems
- Coordinate practical assessments where appropriate
- Assess candidates objectively against the requirements of each position
Hiring Support
- Prepare candidate recommendations for management
- Coordinate final-stage interviews
- Discuss availability, working arrangements and salary expectations with candidates
- Assist with employment offers
- Arrange references where required
- Coordinate right-to-work checks
- Confirm start dates
Onboarding & HR Administration
- Collect required new-starter information
- Coordinate employment documentation
- Liaise with payroll where necessary
- Prepare onboarding information
- Arrange first-day induction
- Ensure new starters have appropriate system and workplace access
- Maintain accurate employee and recruitment records
- Support new employees during their initial onboarding period
Recruitment Reporting
- Maintain an overview of all current vacancies
- Track applications, interviews, offers and successful hires
- Report recruitment progress to management
- Identify recruitment bottlenecks
- Maintain a database of suitable candidates for future opportunities
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Professional and confident when speaking with candidates
- Highly organised Comfortable conducting interviews
- A strong written and verbal communicator
- Able to assess candidates objectively
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable managing several vacancies at the same time
- Confident using online recruitment platforms
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Detail-oriented with strong administrative skills
Formal recruitment or HR qualifications are welcome but are not essential where the candidate can demonstrate strong relevant experience.
Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, combining working from home with attendance at our Milton Keynes workspace when required.
