Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Maternity Cover to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children. This role offers an opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, fostering the development and well-being of young children through engaging activities and personalised care. The ideal applicant will have experience in nursery settings, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialisation, and development
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times
Support children's emotional needs through attentive and nurturing interactions
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and organised nursery environment
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
Assist with daily housekeeping duties related to nursery cleanliness and organisation
Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards

Skills

Proven experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity
Knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding protocols, and best practices in early years education
Organised with the ability to plan activities that stimulate learning and development
Driving skills are advantageous for transportation purposes when necessary
