This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic motivated School Nurse with a post graduate Specialist Community Public Health (School Nursing) qualification, to join an evolving School Nursing Team in NHSFV.
The post holder will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, proficiency, and experience to ensure they act as part of a team which provides a safe, person centred and effective quality service to the school aged population of Forth Valley.
The post holder will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred and effective school health service in the community, by working in partnership with children, young people and families, care providers and other agencies.
The post holder will be the clinical specialist who will be accountable for case management within a defined caseload, delegating work to family support workers in the school health team as appropriate to manage care.
The school health service operates an open access service to families and communities within home, education, community, and primary care settings to promote a healthy lifestyle within the local population giving particular attention to the identified health needs of the locality.
The school nurse will work proficiently to deliver the ten national priority pathways as set by the Scottish Government.
Applicants must be a first level registered nurse and have a post graduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of child protection systems.
Due to the geographical location, the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
