Full job description

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Irrigation Engineer to join our Darsham, Suffolk team, with outdoor work experience and some knowledge of pumps and irrigation systems. We install, service and maintain agricultural, sports turf and golf irrigation systems, including pumping plant, and pipe. You’ll be travelling and working away during the week, working as part of a small team on sites around the country. For the right candidate, on-the-job training will be provided.

Working hours: This is a permanent role with a six-month probation period. Hours are Monday- Friday. Occasional overnight stays away from home. Very occasional Saturdays/ Sundays (emergencies only).

Location: This role is a field-based role, working at customer locations throughout the UK. Our offices are based in Darsham, Suffolk with site premises in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

Pay: A rate of pay is negotiable dependent upon relevant experience and qualifications.

We’re looking to fill the role as soon as possible, so applications will be reviewed and interviews arranged as they come in.

Duties:

Outdoor, hands-on work with irrigation materials
Installing, servicing and maintaining pumps, pipes, valve and irrigation equipment
Diagnosing pump and electrical faults
Using heavy machinery, plant equipment and hand tools
Working closely with colleagues and customers
Providing excellent customer service
Other duties, as reasonably required

Essential skills and experience required:

A driver’s license is essential
Ability to work in a physically demanding role
A practical attitude and willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Problem solving/ diagnostic abilities
Time management
Ability to work independently

Desirable skills and experience:

Working to drawings
Experience in irrigation, pump maintenance or plumbing
Experience operating heavy machinery
Machinery licenses
CSCS Card

Licence/Certification:

UK Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: In person
