About the Role
Due to continued growth, IT Fast Limited is looking for an Installation Engineer to join our expanding field engineering team.
The main part of the role will involve the installation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite broadband systems, primarily Starlink, with Amazon Leo installations expected to form part of our work as the service launches in the UK.
Alongside LEO satellite installations, you’ll work across a variety of residential and business installation projects including WiFi systems, structured network cabling, CCTV and other networking infrastructure.
This is a hands-on field-based position and would suit someone who enjoys working independently, travelling between customer sites and taking pride in completing neat, professional installations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Installation of Starlink and other LEO satellite broadband systems
- Future installation of Amazon Leo systems
- Mounting satellite equipment externally to residential and commercial properties
- Working at height using ladders and appropriate access equipment
- Running and terminating Cat6 network cabling
- Installing Ethernet outlets and network equipment
- Installing and configuring WiFi and whole-home WiFi systems
- Installation of CCTV systems
- Diagnosing basic networking and connectivity issues
- Carrying out additional cabling and networking work for customers
- Completing installation photographs and job documentation
- Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
- Maintaining your company vehicle, tools and equipment
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience with Starlink specifically is not essential, as training can be provided.
We’d be particularly interested in someone with experience in one or more of the following:
- Satellite or aerial installation
- Telecoms or broadband installation
- Data cabling
- Cat5e/Cat6 installation and termination
- WiFi installation
- CCTV installation
- Networking
- Field engineering
- Working at height
You’ll need to be comfortable using ladders and power tools and working externally throughout the year.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, technically minded and capable of finding solutions when every property and installation is slightly different.

In addition to your basic salary, we operate a performance and commission scheme.
Additional earnings are available for installation volumes above our monthly threshold, as well as commission on approved additional products and services sold or installed for customers.
This gives engineers the opportunity to increase their earnings as their experience, efficiency and installation volumes grow.
Working Area
Our engineers operate predominantly across Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and West London, with jobs geographically grouped wherever possible to minimise unnecessary travel.
You will normally travel directly between customer sites using your company vehicle.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Be comfortable working at height
- Be confident using hand and power tools
- Have good customer service and communication skills
- Be able to work independently
- Take pride in neat and tidy workmanship
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
Previous installation, networking, telecoms, CCTV or cabling experience would be advantageous, but we are also interested in practical candidates with the right attitude who are willing to learn.
