This ambitious Conveyancing specialist firm based in Leeds aims to enhance its team by hiring a dynamic, organised and experienced Conveyancing Assistant for its North Leeds based office.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 12 month’s experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, with proficiency in sales and purchases

Job description

Assist the fee earner across the whole of the conveyancing transaction but specifically:

Respond to enquiries from clients, estate agents, referrers, lenders and other third parties in writing, in person and on the telephone.
Pro-actively update clients with progress of their sale and purchase.
Request searches, relevant documents, redemption statements, deeds and required information from the Land Registry, Search Providers, lenders and other 3rd parties.
Draft Contract pack to buyer's solicitor
Dealing with sale enquiries
Logging in Mortgage Offers
Prepare completion statements, bills and set the file up for completion.
Entering client details and matter details accurately on the case management system when logging in initial paperwork
Managing Team emails in fee-earner’s absence.
Highlight any issues regarding the sale or purchase to the fee-earner.
Any additional duties as required to help with the smooth running of the practice.

Essential Knowledge/ Experience required

An understanding of residential conveyancing from beginning to end for sale and purchase transactions.
Minimum of 1 years' working in a residential conveyancing department as an assistant
Experience of working with case management systems

Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communicator and team player
Must be able to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to establish priorities and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
Ability to make timely and well considered decisions
