Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications and company standards
- Prepare cake components, including icing, fondant, and decorative elements
- Assist in the preparation of baked goods and other food items as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the decorating station and work area
- Ensure all decorations are applied accurately and efficiently, meeting deadlines for orders
- Follow food safety protocols at all times during food production and decoration processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during busy periods
- Keep up-to-date with current cake decorating trends and techniques to enhance product offerings
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, especially cake decorating or bakery work, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques
- Experience working in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Skills in using decorating tools such as piping bags, fondant cutters, and airbrushing equipment are preferred
